Hallmark’s 25th Birthday Cake

Happy 25th birthday Hallmark Channel! This cake was made with love to symbolize all that Hallmark stands for. A heart shape for the love and romance in these films, and also to symbolize the huge hearts of everyone at Hallmark Channel, both on and off screen!

-The warm flavors of gingerbread to symbolize the year-round Christmas spirit, but also the warmth each movie fills your heart with.

-A bright orange flavored buttercream frosting to showcase the bright side of every story.

-The iconic Hallmark purple color (which also happens to be my favorite color)!

-Gold crown candles to top it off!

Recipe for cake:

  • 2 2/3 cup flour
  • 1 1/2teaspoons baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
  • I cup brown sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons pumpkin pie spice
  • 1 tablespoon ginger
  • 1/4 teaspoon cloves
  • 12 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup avocado oil
  • 3/4 cup molasses
  • 3 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon vanilla
  • 1 teaspoon orange extract
  • 1/2 cup unsweetened applesauce

Directions:

Start by melting the butter and letting it cool a bit. Set aside.

In a large bowl, mix all dry ingredients, then mix in wet, ingredients one at a time.

Split batter in half and pour each half into two of your silicone 8 inch heart shaped cake pans.

Bake at 350° for about 30 minutes.

Let cool and prepare your favorite buttercream frosting.

You can use store-bought or make your own. Don’t forget to add a teaspoon of orange extract. Follow with purple food coloring to get the desired color of purple.

Decorate with gold sprinkles and a gold crown! Enjoy!
