Meet Adua

Hi! I’m Adua, the home cook, baker, and Hallmark fan behind Hungry for Hallmark.

My love of food began with my traditional Sicilian roots, where homemade meals and desserts were part of everyday life. Years later, I found a way to bring that love of baking together with another one of my favorite things—Hallmark movies.

Today, Hungry for Hallmark is a place where movies inspire recipes, baking brings people together, and a little bit of Hallmark magic finds its way into the kitchen.

How Hungry for Hallmark Began

Hungry for Hallmark began about 10 years ago, when I was a new stay-at-home mom looking for a creative outlet. I had always loved cooking and baking, but watching Home & Family and Hallmark Channel movies sparked an idea: what if I recreated the foods and recipes I saw on screen?

What started as a fun way to combine two things I loved grew into Hungry for Hallmark—a place where I could share recipes inspired by the movies, celebrate the stories and stars behind them, and connect with other Hallmark fans who love a little something delicious with their movie nights.

From Hallmark Fan to Behind the Scenes

What began with watching Hallmark movies at home eventually opened doors I never could have imagined. Through Hungry for Hallmark, I’ve had the opportunity to attend Hallmark events, meet and interview actors, and experience some unforgettable behind-the-scenes moments.

One of the things I love most is getting to share those experiences with fellow fans. Whether I’m chatting with a Hallmark star, discovering the story behind a movie, or recreating something delicious inspired by what I’ve watched, I want Hungry for Hallmark to feel like a place where we can all enjoy the fun together.

A Little More About Me

Before Hungry for Hallmark, I was a first-grade teacher, and I suppose I’ve never really stopped teaching! These days, instead of a classroom, you’ll usually find me in the kitchen sharing recipes, tips, and ideas that I hope make baking feel fun and approachable.

I live in the Chicagoland area with my husband and our two kids, with lots of family nearby. Family, food, and tradition have always gone hand in hand for me—and that spirit is at the heart of what I share here.

Hallmark Memories Along the Way

Some of my favorite Hungry for Hallmark memories have happened beyond the kitchen—from Christmas Con and Hallmark events to conversations with some of the actors who bring these movies to life. Here are a few favorite moments from along the way.
